Beaches of Costa Rica
Costa Rica has both, Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. There are many amazing beaches on both sides of the country; however, they are very unique combining various wonderful characteristics. They combine warm waters year-round, great tourism infrastructure, and unlimited attractions and tours; among these atractions are surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking and other water sports. The Caribbean beaches are very different to the Pacific beaches also known as the Golden Coast. There are also differences between the beaches of the north Pacific side of the country and those from the south Pacific side.
The Caribbean beaches have that unique Caribbean taste where visitors enjoy reggae music and the flavor of coconut oil in their meals. Meanwhile the Pacific beaches are rockier, with pristine waters and some have well developed towns, with large strings of light brown sand. Among the most visited beaches of the country are Playa Tamarindo, Playa Samara, Playa Montezuma, Playa Flamingo, Playa Conchal, and Playas del Coco in the Pacific, and Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo con the Caribbean side, among others. Some other beautiful beaches of Costa Rica are Playa Potrero, Playa Nosara, Playa Junquillal, and Playa Azul.
