Travel Essentials

Airport security has been increased worldwide, and the luggage screening procedures are now more intense. Some airports ask their travelers to come to register for the flight more than 3 hours in advance so that they will have time to go through security with no delays. Among some of the packing tips that may prove helpful when traveling are:

  • Avoid over packing: Besides that the airlines have a set weight for each bag and high fees for extra weight, also each luggage is subject to a possible inspection; if the bag is over-pack, the security screeners may have trouble closing it, resulting in possible damage.
  • Use plastic cable ties instead of licks. They may be broken by security screeners in case of an inspection. It will also help to place extra tags or even a tag inside the bag in case of the external ID tag is lost.
  • Use plastic bags to keep liquid items such as lotions, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
  • Keep important documents and medicines with you on your carry on.
  • When packing try to roll your clothes instead of folding them so you will about unwanted wrinkling. Also you may want to put fragile things inside your rolled clothes so it will not break.
  • Identify your luggage with a very obvious way, so that you can spot your bag easily, also avoiding mistakes.
