Costa Rica is famous for its volcanos and beautiful beaches. The country has more than 200 volcanoes in such a small area with most of them inactive, dormant or extinct. Costa Rica also has 7 with some kind of volcanic activity: Irazu Volcano, Arenal Volcano, Poas Volcano, Turrialba Volcano, Miravalles Volcano, Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and Tenorio Volcano. Most of these volcanoes are located in the North part of the country and they are and importan part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. All the active volcanoes of Costa Rica offer a wide variety of landscapes and activities sorrounding the area. There are also dormant volcanoes that are touristic destinations, such as Barva Volcano and Chato Volcano both located in the Central Volcanic Range System, Orosi Volcano located in the Guanacaste Volcanic Range System.
