The architecture of the CNS Ecolodge is inspired by the indigenous pre-Columbian construction techniques of the region, used by natives far more than 1000 years. The round palenques (or ranchos) are covered with a traditional thatched roof of palm leaves. The CNS Ecolodge consists of four palenque structures; three guest units of eight rooms each, and one central building with lobby, restaurant, bar, coffee gourmet bar, photo gallery, administration, gift shop and conference centre.

My husband and I recently stayed at Sarapiquis Rainforest Lodge and absolutely loved our experience. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the grounds were breathtaking and our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The highlight was taking the Chocolate Tour in the reserve located next to the Lodge. Our guide was a biology graduate who was full of interesting information about the rainforest and native people who lived there. We could have listened to him all day long! It was fun to make our own hot chocolate from Coco beans grown on the reserve. We loved the hanging bridge over the beautiful Sarapiqui River and the wildlife we saw - Sloth, butterflies, red dart frog, etc... We relaxed under the full moon by the pool, enjoying a bottle of wine followed by the best dinner we had during our trip! I highly recommend adding Sarapiquis Rainforest Lodge to your itinerary in Costa Rica!
